We're located smack in the middle of Canadian--and we're nowhere near Canada! Our town is right on the banks of the Canadian River, in the northeast corner of the Texas Panhandle on U.S. Highways 83 and 60. There are more beautiful, scenic places in Texas with friendlier people--but we don't know where! Our building was built in the late 1940s and was originally a Phillips 66 service station and a Pontiac dealership owned by Frank Cook. Jim Hoobler bought the building and operated it as a Phillips 66 service station. We bought the building in December of 2000 and remodeled it into a restaurant. Steve Johnson Design & Construction worked with us in designing and remodeling the building into its present state. We have tried to keep as much of the old building intact. The community has helped us decorate by dropping off license plates, signs, hubcaps and other petrobilia. Antique shops, an old-timey soda fountain, world-class birding, wildlife photography, awesome deer and turkey hunting, a vibrant arts community, the oldest rodeo in Texas, and a fall foliage festival to die for are just a FEW of our town's attractions. Come visit, and when your tank starts running low, come fill up with us!
